Greetings from Buenos Aires!

Hello everyone, while down visiting my brother in Buenos Aires, I took a minute to check my email and facbook updates to see whats going on up in The States. To my surprise, I found some great videos that Marie Cousineau posted of us from our Kenny's Castaways gig!

To see these, go to our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/The-Sun-Gets-Down/50567417735?ref=ts

Don't forget to join us April 10th at The Brickhouse brewery in Patchogue NY...and be patient...I have had alot of people ask me about the album and when the release date is...my only answer is hopefully soon! As Ryan has mentioned previously, our good friends Mike and Emmett are hard at work in Connecticut doing all the mixing and fine tuning. Right now, we are planning for a late spring/early summer release of Ties To The Grid.

Until then, keep spreading the word on TSGD. Encourage friends to check our myspace, blog, and if you have any of our demos... share them with everyone you know!

Let the Drummer Kick

Howdy. We just got word from our producer Mike that the percussion and organ tracks are going to be recorded very soon. Thanks to the help of Mike and Emmett, Ties to the Grid is going to feature some extremely talented backing musicians. Exciting stuff!

Attack of Fred

Everyone stay tuned for some posts by our good friend Fred. Fred has been supporting us since Jesse and I joined up with Ryan and James, and he played a key role during our first recording session up in Connecticut.

I am not too sure what he will be talking about...I assume it's music related. I apologize if he offends you. But just remember that if he does, you probably deserved it...

MC Pipes and Drums

As some of you know, aside from The Sun Gets Down, I also play Scottish-Style drums in Pipe Bands. Being one of the best months of the year, this March has been packed with weekends spent at different parades in the New York Metro area. Here are a bunch of pictures from my parades with The Manhattan College Pipe and Drum Band. Whether it be marching down Manhattan's 5th Ave, or posing for a picture with the NY Jets Flight Crew, this is a great group of guys and gals who know how to have a good time.

Here are some pics from St. Patrick's Day in NYC:

Kenny's Set

Hey now! Thank you to everyone who made the trip to see us at Kenny's Castaways in NYC. We played all the songs that will be on our first studio album Ties to the Grid. Check it out!

Add some funk to your life

We are eternally preparing for the release of Ties to the Grid. In addition to the arduous recording and mixing process, we also have copyrighting fees, album art, CD development, website design and the planning of the release party on our plate.

Stress is abundant in these times!

On another note (I’ll be a melvin and call attention to the musical pun in “note”), James and I have also been working on a side-project with our good friend Charley Robinson. The unnamed funk/rock, mostly instrumental trio features Charley on guitar, James on bass and me on drums and percussion. It’s been a refreshing experience to work with a new musician and to get behind some different instruments. We’re really connecting as a group and I'm excited to release some of the stuff we've been writing.

Look for a name, myspace, Facebook, logo, website, videos, gigs and all that good stuff to come!

AND OF COURSE...

Keep checking back for more TSGD gigs and album updates!

Album Update

As of right now, Ties to the Grid is looking like it's going to be available by the beginning of summer. The recording process has slowed down a bit due to scheduling difficulties, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any progress. Mike and Emmett (our producers/engineers) have been working hard to mix the tracks we put down in January—specifically "Meticulous Critic", "Truth", "You Gotta Believe in Something" and "Down the Middle".

Organ, piano, slide guitars and more are coming soon... and hopefully we'll have a few sneak previews for you in the coming weeks.

Keep checking back for more updates, photos, videos, setlists and more!

We'll see you at Kenny's Castaways in NYC on Thursday!
